Departing the city by 7.30am means that we arrive at Featherdale
Wildlife
Park at around 8.00am. At this time we are before the crowds and you have nearly 1.5 hours to wander this excellent compact park, teeming with Australian Native Animals.. You have the Park to your self and at this time of day the residents, all native Australian animals, are at their best. You can pat the kangaroos and wallabies, get a photo up close to a koala, check out the wombats, Tasmanian Devils or take a look at the crocodile together with an extensive Australian native bird collection.
After around 1 and half hours we leave the park to visit the World Heritage Blue Mountains. There is a lot to see from water falls, great walks, the best views and you will soon appreciate why the Blue Mountains is the most popular tourist attraction on the outskirts of Sydney.
On departing the Wildlife Park we are now heading up to the mountains to stop at another rugged look out at Kings
Tableland. Here there is evidence of early aboriginal markings and spear sharpening grooves. This is a huge rocky outcrop on the cliff and is exposed to the wind and weather. In bleak or windy weather this lookout is inaccessible. This lookout will give you an awesome feeling and as it is accessible in a small bus it is protected from the large numbers of tourists which flock to the area.
